Bird Language Lessons- Sunday, April 21st, 2024 at River Preserve at the Baintertown Shelter in Elkhart, IN

Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm 

Age: 8+

Fee: Free (Limit 15)

The sound of spring birds may be music to your ears, but do you know the messages behind the melodies? From predicting when a hawk is about to fly overhead to finding a warbler hidden in the bushes, learn the secret language of birds in this “ears-on” class that will teach you the behavior behind the calls, and how to ID them by sound. The first part of the workshop will explore bird behavior, followed by a hike, where we will practice listening techniques and discover what birds we can find by using only our ears.

Osprey Hike- Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Potato Creek State Park at the West Lot in North Liberty, IN

Time: 2:00pm - 2:45pm

Fee: Free. Does not include park entrance fee.

Come and welcome the Ospreys back home while they prepare for their young! They have traveled thousands of miles to see you. Join Naturalist at the West Lot for a short hike. Learn why Worster Lake is great stopover habitat for migratory birds. Learn why Osprey chose to call Potato Creek their home.
