Books & Boots at Ox Bow County Park in Elkhart, IN
The Elkhart Public Library has teamed up with the Elkhart County Parks to offer a book club for kids! Each meeting will include a book discussion followed by a park-led activity exploring one of the book’s environmental themes. Activities could include hikes, live animals, and more.

Owl Prowl at the Benton Dam Parking Lot in River Preserve County Park in New Paris, IN
Join a naturalist to learn all about owls and other nocturnal creatures on a fun interactive night hike. Discover local owl species, nocturnal adaptations, and more as we experience River Preserve after dark. Participants are encouraged to arrive early and come prepared for a *2-mile hike.
Meet at Benton Dam Parking Lot in River Preserve County Park, located one mile south of U.S. 33 on C.R. 31. in Goshen (Directions Here). This hike is weather-dependent. Check the Elkhart County Park page for updates before heading out.
*NOTE: This program is appropriate for ages 8 and up as it includes a 2-mile hike at night under quiet conditions listening for owls and may not be suitable for younger children.

Spooky Evening Walk and Talk at Love Creek Nature Center & County Park in Berrien Center, MI
Come experience our Love Creek trails in a different way this fall! Rhiannon Cizon, director of the History Center at Courthouse Square, will kick off the evening with a mix of traditional tales and local ghostly legends that will help you get in the Halloween mood! Afterward, a naturalist will guide you on one of our favorite trails under the night sky. During the hike we will call for owls and listen for other creatures of the dark.

Join a Love Creek Naturalist this morning while we explore the boardwalk, trails and overlook deck. We're looking for migrants on their way to overwintering sites. After Galien River we may head to the Three Oaks treatment ponds or New Buffalo Beach in search of waterfowl. Meet at the parking lot trail head.
