Hummingbirds and Orioles have been making their way through the southern states over the last couple of weeks! Each year, both species typically arrive in northern Indiana and southern Michigan sometime from mid-to-late April into early May.

A helpful way to remember their usual timing is this:
Orioles often begin arriving between Easter and Earth Day, while Hummingbirds are usually spotted from the end of April through Mother’s Day.

Of course, migration is never exact. Their arrival depends on many factors, including daylight, weather, wind patterns, and the availability of natural food sources as they travel north.
